A tasty little local wine from just down the road in Durban Corbieres. Very good value at around 4.50€ a bottle. Domaine de la Peyrouse 2006 packs a good punch for its price. Nice even rich ripe fruits Domaine de la Peyrouse

David Ginola former Newcastle United footballer is now in the wine business and is launching a Rosé produced in his native Puget Ville in the department of Var. The thought of David Ginola treading grapes does rather make me smile, but truth be told the wine is produced by the local Coste Brulade Co-Op. Lets hope that it is not like most wines that celebs are involved in; awful undrinkable toilet water. At least he is a local boy and he’s teamed up with a Co-Op and not some large wine making corporation.
Wine and cheese can make for happy pairings if you follow some basic guidelines for choosing the wine and the cheese. Join Harvey Steiman as he picks a Cabernet Sauvignon and then matches it with a couple cheeses.
A rather dull Beaujolais Villages wine from Saint-Jean-d’Ardieres.Pleasant Ruby colour, but on the palate it is rather young, fresh and lacking any body to speak of.It is drinkable but nothing makes it interesting or entertaining. At just under 4.50€ it is O.K. value for money but I would not buy it again.
It is, if you are the person who’s selling their collection of Bordeaux wines from 2000.
The wine will go under the hammer at Christie’s in London on the 15th and 18th of September and are expected to fetch a very handsome £1.3m to £1.6m. In total there are just over 30,000 bottles in the collection.
A decent good value table wine, Chateau de Campuget - Costieres de Nimes is a blend of Syrah 65 %, Grenache noir 30 %, Mourvèdre 5 % grapes. This is a medium bodied wine with smooth ripe blueberries and summer forest fruits, with a tiny tannin note at the end. Very good value at 4€ a bottle.
A look at the village and vineyards of Durban Corbieres set in the Corbieres hills a few kilometres from the Mediterranean in the heart of Cathar country.
A fun wine with a unique marketing point. Buy a bottle and get a date. The is a code hidded on the back of the label and when you visit Soif de Coeurs Website , you enter the code and join a dating website for drinkers of Soif de Coeurs. I must admit, this is a genius idea on the part of Omnivins.
Now to the wine. Truth be told once you get past the gimmick, the wine is a little bit of a let down. In is a standard ‘table wine’. It is very light bodied with even soft fruit notes but at under 3€ a bottle you can’t knock it.
Now it is nearing harvest time, I thought I would take a walk on the wild side!!! O.K. so not that wild. In fact I only went for a short wander on the outskirts of our village (Villeneuve les Corbieres) to capture the grapes, village and terrior.
A fruity little number from Domaine Le Cingle - Montveyre (Madame MARILL, Domaine Le Cingle - Montveyre 11360 Fontjoncouse Telephone : 04 68 44 02 81).
A good even wine, with earthy notes of dry herbs and once warmed on the palate, cooked dark red fruits. This is a slight black cherry finish. All in all a well balanced wine and at just under 5€ a bottle, excellent value for money. It is light enough to enjoy with most foods (apart from Curry!).

A drinkable table wine from the Boisset/Louis Bernard stable. This wine is a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and Cinsault grapes. This is nice young light bodied wine, with a good even red fruit note, that lingers on the palate. Excellent value for money at 4€ a bottle.
This wine won gold medal aat the Foire aux Vins d’Orange 2007
Asia is set to become one of the biggest markets for exporting wine to. China alone is heading for the €500 million worth of wine imports. Most of this growth is at the top and middle end of the market, so will do little to reduce the wine mountain. In fact all it will do is push up the price of premium wines around the world. France looks set to dominate the top end of the market and Australia and New Zealand have a good chance of getting a good chunk of the middle and lower end market, because of there location and already strong links to Asian markets.
