Not the great wine from Léon-Nicolas Duhamel. His wines from Haut Gleon are far better and more well rounded. I would give this wine a miss because it is not very good and poor value for money.
This is a Léon-Nicolas Duhamel wine ( 13 Avenue De Narbonne, Sigean, Aude 11130 )
Cost = €6.85 a bottle

Spit or Swallow : We went to BevMo! and bought 6 bottles of Chardonnay.
We did a blind tasting and now we reveal our surprising favorites! Now you know what to buy right now!
A most pleasant wine. Woodland berries on the nose and on the palate there are nice notes of yellow plums with a earthy note. It is medium to light bodied so would suit white meat dishes and goats cheese.
Cost = €3.90 a bottle

The French Ministry of Agriculture has founded the Supreme Council for Wine Tourism to help boost wine tourism in France. France gets 5 million tourists per year but wine tourism is falling behind foreign neighbours in both facilities and organisation. The aim of the the nation council is to provide better marketing of the French wine industry has a tourist attraction in its own right.

Times are tough. Everyone is tightening their belts. So the big question is what wines can you grab this weekend that will be great drops, but not break the budget? We look at three great wines, with each just a touch over the ten dollar mark. The first is a red blend that’s very approachable despite its youthfulness. The second is a Semillion with five years bottle age that’s still a super bargain. The last is a Hunter shiraz from a producer making a real name for themselves.
Not a bad tipple. It is a bit young for my tastes but never the less a very drinkable wine. It’s got a nice warm rich fruity nose. On the palate there are nice notes of stewed fruit, with a mild tannin background reminding you of new leather. A very nice young Rioja and not bad value for money. Well worth a trip to the supermarket Intermarche for.
This wine is from the supermarket Intermarche and carries the Club des Sommelliers label, which in the past I’ve always thought should read ‘Club of the Smelly Air’ because wines I’ve had under this label have been dire to say the least and given this is a Spanish wine I had thought it would be even worse, but surprise, surprise is is decent and at a goodish price. I may even venture and buy a couple of bottle of French wine from them the next time I venture into an Intermarche store.
Cost = €5.30 a bottle
