New York, New York (Press Release) August 28, 2009 — Armand de Brignac Champagne (http://www.armanddebrignac.com/) and Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) (http://www.rndc-usa.com/)proudly announce a new distribution partnership in the states of Florida, Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, New Mexico (National Distributing Company), North Dakota, and South Dakota. Combined with Maryland, South Carolina, and Washington D.C., where Republic National already distributes the Champagne brand, the two companies have forged a significant national relationship. Peter Madden, Corporate Vice President for Wine of RNDC, says of the partnership, “With RNDC’s expertise and relationships, and Armand de Brignac’s unparalleled growth in the luxury Champagne category, we foresee great things.” “We look forward to working with RNDC,” adds Jean-Jacques Cattier, Armand de Brignac’s head winemaker. “Their commitment to our brand will continue to raise its profile in the United States and produce fruitful results across the country.”
Each bottle of Armand de Brignac is crafted entirely by hand by winemaker Jean-Jacques Cattier and a staff of eight at M. Cattier’s family estate in Chigny-les-Roses, France. The luxury Champagne brand has become one of the world’s hottest luxury items - it is currently sold in more than 40 countries, despite being produced in strictly limited quantities. A blend of three exceptional vintages from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, and Vallée de la Marne terroirs of Champagne, Armand de Brignac is bottled in a distinctive opaque gold bottle (pink-gold for the Rosé, or silver for the Blanc de Blancs). Four hand-applied pewter appliqués, including the brand’s trademark “Ace of Spades” insignia complete the package, which has become renowned as the definitive luxury Champagne worldwide.
Armand de Brignac counts among its fans the famed Spanish wine critic José Penín (who rated the Brut 98 points, his highest ever for a Champagne), Italian critic Alberto Lupetti, whose Spirito diVino publication featured the brand in its “Best Champagne Guide,” and celebrities including actors Tom Cruise and Leonardo diCaprio, recording artists Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, and athletes LeBron James and Roger Federer.
RNDC is the second-largest distributor of premium wine & spirits in the U.S. Formed in 2007, when Republic Beverage Company and National Distributing Company combined their businesses in seventeen states and the District of Columbia, RNDC is an organization built on the strong foundations of two long-term, well-established family owned companies, the oldest of which dates back to 1898.

After a big week last week when the annual Young Gun of Wine was awarded, we decided we’d look at three wines from a couple of the finalists. The first is a Pinot Blanc from Franco D’Anna at Hoddles Creek (http://hoddlescreekestate.com.au/). The next, from the overall winner of the Young Gun trophy Colin McBryde, is a slightly sweet Riesling from his brand Some Young Punks (http://www.someyoungpunks.com.au/), with the memorable name “Monsters, Monsters Attack!”. Finally we check out a Great Western Syrah (despite what Brad says) from Gary Mills under his super impressive Jamsheed (http://www.jamsheed.com.au/) label.

San Francisco, CA (Press Relese ) August 27, 2009 — Crushpad (http://www.crushpadwine.com/), the world leader in custom winemaking, today announced Fusebox Fundraising — a program that increases revenues for non-profits through the creation of their own, unique wines. Contrasted with generic “private label” wines, Crushpad enables organizations to fully express their creativity in the creation of their wine and packaging using high-end wines that have gone into commercial bottles that sell for up to $75 - all with zero up-front investment, risk or minimum commitment. Wines are sold on Crushpad-hosted sites that are distinctively branded for each non-profit.
This program is part of Crushpad’s new Fusebox product line that combines wine blending, internet technology and mass customization to reduce what was once a yearlong process to one that takes days. Fusebox Fundraising can be used by non-profits of all sizes to create a recurring revenue stream while giving their constituents something unique and satisfying for their contributions. Organizations can even create multiple offerings per year and wine clubs to maximize revenue streams.
“From national medical non-profits to local dog rescues, donations are down significantly this year and organizations are struggling,” said Crushpad CEO, Michael Brill. “As a company, we have a strong track record of contributions. But now, instead of just donating to these organizations, we’re leveraging our five years of expertise by ‘teaching them to fish’ through creating their own cellar-worthy wines.”
With over 30 different Fusebox wine blending components to choose from, organizations can blend their own wines or select from pre-blended wines. Packaging may be designed online with Crushpad’s label design tool or with the assistance of a Crushpad designer. Finally, an online store is generated, Crushpad handles all sales and fulfillment, and proceeds go to the non-profit. Organizations can make anywhere from $2 to $200 per bottle, depending upon the type of wine chosen and the financial capabilities of their donors.
